Creating A Magical Experience

We have worked on the PR account for our client Internorm for a number of years and pride ourselves on being considered an extension to their team. In fact, we believe this is central to our success with the company; particularly since our support extends to their distributors too. A great example of this is their recent Partner Meeting – an event we were tasked with planning and managing.

The window manufacturer holds a Partner Meeting for its distributors every year as it provides the ideal way in which to engage their stakeholders. For Internorm, they are able update their distributors, or Partners as they are known, as well as reward them for their hard work. From our perspective, as an agency that’s supporting both Internorm and their partners’ marketing, the meeting is a very valuable event as it gives us the chance to network with their distributors while updating them on the work we have completed, ultimately aiding our joint marketing approach.

For 2015 they really wanted to take this meeting to the next level with brief of ‘it has to have the WOW factor’. With over 70 attendees, the event was made up of two parts – an afternoon of presentations followed by dinner. The afternoon presentations took place at The Grange City Hotel, a venue that was able to meet all of our client’s needs (including accommodating very large window samples). For the dinner element our client was looking for a space that was synonymous of London and what better than Tower Bridge?

With the two spaces booked, the intricate planning got under way from managing food and drink choices and invite design to booking the magician and photographer / videographer. We even booked a London red Routmaster bus (with Internorm branded ribbon of course) to transport the guests from their hotel to the venues. On the day, as well as taking care of the management of both the presentations and dinner, we presented the PR and social media work completed during 2014.

This was a great opportunity for Partners to gain an understating of the work we do, what they need to provide us with (such as case study information) and how it will ultimately help their business. For this, building and maintaining relationships with each of the Partners is key.

I am pleased to say the day and evening was a great success and we had some fantastic feedback including details of some great projects we can work on with the Partners. Dinner at Tower Bridge did exactly what was required – it gave the WOW factor and the added element of the magician at the dinner was the perfect finishing touch! Overall, I think its fair to say that the event was a great example of the importance of being an extension to a client’s marketing team.
