The Rock brand encompasses both Rock Infrastructure and Rock Rail, offering innovative infrastructure development solutions.
Having originally set up the Rock Infrastructure logo for the company when it launched in 2011, the Rock Group approached us again in 2017 following a continuous growth of the company and the addition of Rock Rail within the past five years.
CIB was tasked with refreshing and refining the Rock family of logos to effectively communicate the brand at all levels, including Rock Rail and its sub-brands such as Rock Rail Moorgate.
This also involved developing a distinctive and impactful visual language for the company, which would be further incorporated into stationery, presentation templates and the company’s core values; The Rock Way.
Starting with the logo, CIB wanted to create a powerful mark that included a nod to infrastructure and moved Rock away from its old branding visually, whilst retaining the old logos’ strong colour reference.
With this it was important to assess the business’s growth strategy to ensure any further sub-brand development could be accounted for moving forward.
This was achieved through utilising a strong arch shape with a new core logo colour, keeping the old ‘Rock blue’ as the first of the new secondary colour palette. Magenta and cyan were used to further differentiate the Infrastructure and Rail logos respectively, with sub-brand names being added neatly within the logo structure.
The final output of the Rock branding resulted in the logo arch being adapted in multiple ways to suit the company’s visual language and stationery, providing a full set of assets that are all equally distinctive to the Rock brand.
“The re-brand was an important development for Rock as it needed to represent how the business structure has changed as well as create a distinctive and impactful look for the brand. CIB grasped the brief from the start and we are thrilled with the logo and subsequent collateral they produced for us. We feel it really captures the professional and modern company we are.” - Helen Levy, Marketing Director, Rock Rail Holdings Ltd
