We recently highlighted how evolution ‘app’ened for the Zumtobel Photographic Competition, through the move from disposable cameras to an app, and the animation created to promote it.
With over 393 competition entrants making the move to an app a huge success, Zumtobel decided to take the competition one step further by launching overseas.
Already having an established architectural base in the Nordic region, the Nordic Photographic competition seemed the next logical step, and we were again assigned as the agency to produce a promotional animation.
While the competition works in the same way as the UK, this being the initial launch to the Nordic market meant a different creative theme was needed - 'the joy of giving'.
Keeping the same 'see it, tap it, app it' message as the UK competition, the new storyboard aimed to showcase each Nordic country and the joy they’ve given the world.
Sweden having brought us Abba, Iceland giving the Viking War Chant and Finland providing Angry Birds, Mika Häkkinen and Kimi Räikkönen. Denmark, of course, gave the world Lego and the ‘best’ larger in the world – Carlsberg. Then there’s the classic Lusekofte Christmas jumper having been given by Norway to name a few…
Now, it’s time for Zumtobel to return the compliment. Let’s hope the Nordic Photographic Competition gets the joy it deserves.
