April ‘Tools’ Day

A day that brings opportunity for everyone to take part in a prank, and the construction industry is not one to miss out. The internet was filled with stories and the imaginative building industry embraced the tradition.

British Land were going to develop a site among the cluster of London’s towers. The design was a tall, slender building incorporating the latest sustainable technology, featuring an unusual crust shape - dubbed ‘The Slice of Bread.’

In keeping with the London building theme was a story about the Gherkin Tower, which was testing an innovative vegetated façade panel to keep up with sustainable building. The ‘Green Wall’ surrounding the outside of the building would bring benefits of green roofs to the exterior of skyscrapers.

For a day that comes round once a year, the topical made up stories make it hard to believe anything you read!
