Enhancing events for Prater

Prater recently held its annual Supply Chain Conference. A significant event in the company’s calendar, it provides an opportunity for the specialist contractor to share information and build strong relationships with its clients, supply chain partners and key suppliers.

This year marked over ten years of Prater’s Supply Chain and CIB was tasked with providing help to enhance and elevate the event.

CIB’s creative team began that process by evolving the event’s visual identity to introduce photography - bringing Prater’s people to the forefront. This was then utilised across all the collateral for the day. The team also designed a 6 page, A5 leave behind for attendees, providing facts and testimonials to highlight where collaboration was key to a project’s success.

A major part of CIB’s remit was to propose and produce an impactful video to open the event. Given the theme was Quality Through Collaboration, CIB proposed going behind the scenes, talking to the people through-out Prater’s business about the importance of collaboration, and how it impacts their role and the projects they work on, from the managing director to project managers, HR, PAs, estimators, trainees and factory operatives.

CIB’s Client Services and PR teams worked together to manage the extensive filming across multiple locations around the UK; interviewing clients such as Mace and Laing O'Rourke, as well as key supply chain partners.

Within a tight timeframe, CIB also managed and produced key visual content for the day including two major project documentary videos on Battersea and Bracknell Town Centre, as well as an upbeat and informative video that would provide attendees with a snapshot of Prater’s year to date.

Furthermore, CIB introduced and managed the inclusion of external speakers to the event. Elizabeth Kavanagh and Paul Fox, founders of the working group Behaviours4Collaboration, talked of the behavioural changes needed to support collaborative working in general and why it is gaining increasing significance for the construction industry.

“The challenge for us is to continue to elevate our supply chain event year on year. CIB provides a valuable contribution – working closely with us in the planning stages right through to the event itself. With CIB’s knowledge and understanding of our business, the team is able to make effective suggestions and produce content that keeps our event dynamic, interesting and informative and one that I continue to be very proud of.”
