Makita training day for search and rescue charity
I was recently asked to join the team at Makita at a training day for search and rescue charity S.A.R.A.I.D, to see for myself how the team uses Makita tools in the aftermath of natural disasters like earthquakes, tsunamis and landslides. To make it as realistic as possible, the training session was held at the Fire Service College in the Moreton-In-Marsh – and the S.A.R.A.I.D team really put Makita’s tools to the test.

FX Design Seminar for Forbo Flooring
A recent event arranged for our client Forbo Flooring Systems offered them (and me!) a really interesting insight into the challenges of designing for the private rental sector (PRS). With investment in the UK’s PRS set to soar to £75 Billion by 2025 (and an additional 560,000 households expected to be in private rented accommodation by 2023) Forbo wanted to hear more from designers working in this area. One of the most effective ways to speak to this audience, was to partner with FX magazine and host a Design Seminar.

Digital Construction Week - Dystopia or Utopia?
Last Thursday (or was it last Thursday?), I made my way to Digital Construction Week at ExCeL London. On the way down to the venue, I had to change at Canning Town station, noting that if I had been there earlier, I would have been stuck watching Extinction Rebellion protestors being pulled off underground trains by angry commuters. On my journey, I happened to be listening to an episode of In Our Time, which was a discussion on H.G Wells The Time Machine.
